Magic Lantern Slides

Somehow I have managed to start collecting Magin Lantern Slide’s, I bought a box of old (1920s – 1940’s) photographs at an auction, and two wooden slender looking crates came with the ‘lot’, as you can guess these contained magic lantern slides.

The magic lantern, also known by its Latin name lanterna magica, is an early type of image projector employing pictures painted, printed or produced photographically on transparent plates (usually made of glass), one or more lenses, and a light source. (source wiki).

Here is a couple from the collection that appeal to me.
